an anecdote about designer luigi colani (is it true?)
when confronted with the problem of women breaking through the floor of airplanes with their pointy stiletto heels, he was to find a new material for the plane’s carpet/floor. he could not find one, as it always resulted in a heavier plane. so he colaborated with dior in order to design a new shoe, that widens at the base even more than the above pictured, thus decreasing the pressure.
